4/13/2009 1:23:32 PM
Designed on the request of a major client, Caterpillar Generation Systems, Impact has introduced a new teambuilding product. This powerful new product called “Market Simulation” is an experiential based teambuilding program that simulates the dynamics that occur between the departments in any corporation. It emphasizes the need for communication and cooperation between all those departments.
The Challenge
• The overall group is broken into smaller teams
• The teams compete to gather market share
• Each team is provided a budget
• Teams design and build a client capture device
• Teams gather objects from a marked curtained off area – “Market”
• Objects in the market represent different values of revenue
• Teams must designate different team members to fill five specific roles within the team
• Market Research, Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, & Sales
• Each role will perform specific functions and tasks
• Competition is based on profitability
Why it works
It meets the following criteria.
• Provide awareness of behavior
• Provide opportunity for change of behavior
• Relate behavior to organizational performance
• Experiential in nature
• Simulate real business scenario
• Use real business acumen
• Solution for training budgetary constraints
• Solution for time constraints
• Provide measureable “R.O.I.”
What Clients are saying about it.
“This is a very well designed exercise. It helped us get to the real issues in our Global Sales Team.” N.O.V.
“This exercise blatantly revealed our bottlenecks in our design to deliver cycle. It worked out much better than what we had originally planned for our teambuilding exercise.” Chevron
Impact is very excited about this product. We believe that this innovative product takes experiential teambuilding to a whole new level. It works in helping to foster a whole new attitude around cooperation in an organization. It is very affordable and does not require a large time requirement.
